In order to meet the social need to empower teachers through professional development and betterment of school education in Japan, Hyogo University of Teacher Education strives to perform the following missions:
「現職教員に対する高度な専門性と実践的指導力の育成」
１．現職教員に対し，教育現場の課題を踏まえた学びの場を提供することにより，専門職として高度な専門性と実践的指導力を育成します。1. To develop in-service teachers as part of a high-quality teaching profession and equip them with practical leadership skills:
We develop in-service teachers as part of a high-quality teaching profession and equip them with practical leadership skills by providing them with learning opportunities in response to issues arising in classrooms.
「実践力に優れた新人教員の養成」
２．豊かな教育環境を生かして，実践力と人間性に優れた新人教員を養成します。2. To train new teachers with highly developed teaching skills:
We train new teachers with highly developed teaching skills and a deep understanding of education by making the most of the excellent learning and teaching environments.
「教育実践学の推進」
３．学校教育に関する理論と実践を融合した研究（「教育実践学」）を推進し，優れた研究者を養成します。3. To promote research in the science of school education:
We promote research in the science of school education by integrating theory and practice of school education and developing excellent researchers.
「教育研究成果の国内外への発信」
４．教育と研究の成果を地域や広く国内外に発信し，学校の教育活動に生かします。4. To disseminate research results to the academic community in Japan and overseas:
We disseminate research results to the academic community in Japan and overseas so that they can be utilized in educational activities.
「教員養成の先導的モデル」
５．学校教育の課題やニーズを不断に捉え，新しいカリキュラムや教育方法を主体的に改善・開発することにより，我が国の教員養成・研修の先導的モデルとなります。5. To provide pioneering models of teacher education:
We provide pioneering models of teacher education by envisaging the needs and issues of school education of the day and developing new curricula and teaching methodologies.
